Real Life Team Building

This website about projects built through teambuilding seems to be sort of a unique exercise. The website, http://www.teamleadership.org, has a sort of homemade, kitschy feel to it, probably because it’s an amateur site, created by people who took a Landmark Education Programme called Team Management and Leadership, but are just regular people who don’t have an affiliation with the company.

Indeed, rather than all the stories written by one blogger, each individual who took this programme shares their experience. Each person appears to have created a project called “a team game in the world,” which is some sort of community project that requires a team to fulfill it. Projects on the Team Leadership site include fundraisers for children in India, art projects for prisoners, spotlighting the contributions of immigrants, conservation projects in the Pacific Northwest and dozens more miscellaneous projects on a huge variety of topics.

A great many of the projects can also be seen on YouTube - If one goes to that website, many of them can be found under the channel ‘TMLP Times’. It seems that in some cases the creator(s) of the Team Leadership website took videos and made them into stories for their blog.

In all, the assortment of projects is impressive and inspiring. Most ‘team building’ websites give general advice; few provide a wide range of real-life examples undertaken by an assortment of ordinary people. Although the layout of the site appears quite plain, the thought behind it is not: Start with column on the right side of the main page titled recent posts, and explore for yourself what this site has to offer. There is also an email subscription offer for those who want to be notified about new posts, which seem to come about once per week.

Review of Landmark Education Leadership and Self Development – http://leadershipandselfdevelopment.com.

I nominally consider this to be a charity website, even though it isn’t related to one particular charity or organization. Instead, this website is based on a collection of projects undertaken by a wide array of individuals, all of whom have taken part in a self-growth programme called the Landmark Education Self-Expression and Leadership Programme. Landmark Education is a well-known in the personal growth and seminar industry, and this particular programme is about having people undertake projects in their communities.

Many of these projects raise funds for a specific charity or organization, which is why I consider this at some level to be a “charity” website. But while the site doesn’t look at one particular charity, it does give a broad range of ideas for individuals who might be looking to make a difference in some way in something that is of importance to them. Reading about these projects, many of the modest and some of them quite large, is a good brainstorming activity for those looking to think out of the box about how to accomplish some goal in their communities.

What seems noteworthy to this reviewer about many of these projects beyond the “good deeds” of the projects are two things:

1)Each of the people involved didn’t just do community work themselves, but worked to have other people also become leaders in the project, thereby leveraging their strengths, and
2)Each of the people involved has a clear personal link between the project and their own personal story of why the it’s important to them in their lives. This link could keep one passionate about their cause even when times are difficult.

In summary, I would recommend http://leadershipandselfdevelopment.com to community activists looking to make a greater difference.

SOCIAL NETWORKING – THE CURRENT TREND

Posted by jhon | Education | Friday 17 October 2008 6:38 am

Social networking is nothing but grouping up individuals as communities or groups who share the same kind of idea and have almost the same wavelength. This became the primary aim of social networking sites. Later social networking sites were developed using the World Wide Web. Such social networking sites helped their users to find their friends and relatives far across the world and maintain regular contacts with those people. www.theschoolsunited.com is a social networking site for schools scattered around the world for discussing their subjects and to clarify their doubts with the advice and guidance of experts in the field. These social networking sites avoid the need for the professors to come in person by traveling long distances for a small lecture. Instead the students can connect to these social networking sites, search for the right person to clarify their doubts and ask their expertise online without having to move a block. This has made studying more easily and fun. Social networking sites are aplenty. But finding the right one for constructive purpose is difficult. But this site offers all the assistance it can to unite schools all over mother earth and help students get better exposure to international standards. The students also get an idea of how to interact with others and what are the various methods of schooling adopted in other countries. Such social networking sites have to be encouraged and developed.

A man becomes complete only if he is educated. Thus in this competitive world, education plays a very important role and only with knowledge a person can survive in this world. Thus the foundation which a person gets during his play school and primary education should be strong enough. Only then he can be supported to learn more in the years to come. A teacher is the first role model of every child. When a kid begins to go to school, it spends more time only with the teacher and learns anything and everything which the teacher teaches and does. Hence for teacher to be a perfect example, he/she must be well trained and this is done by www.ppplus.com.au which covers every need of a teacher.

The lessons are offered for primary and nursery school teachers because it is easy to handle higher classes too. The materials are up to syllabus and they keep updating with the new advancements in the curriculum. They aim in providing a quality material and programs at a very cheaper cost. The material and programs are prepared by a team of well skilled and competent staff and we need not to have any doubt about the standard of the program offered. The site provides special discount offers for the customers who have got membership nearly up to twenty percent on purchase of material. Thus the primary school lessons offered in the primary program plus site are very useful for a teacher to get trained in his/her field completely.
