The traditional past meets the future
Dubai is one of the seven emirates located along the southern coast of the Persian Gulf. It is the most populated city of United Arab Emirates with an urban area of 3885 sq km. On the other hand, it will still expand in size due to the world famous man-made constructions such as the Waterfront, the three Palms, the World, the Universe, and Dubailand. Burj Nahar can also be found in the north part of the creek. It is one of the great three watchtowers, which provide a perfect backdrop for photographers.
An extraordinary attraction soon to be opened is the Hydropolis. It is an addition to the famous Dubai Hotels that is said to open sometime in 2009. It is a multi billion dollar underwater hotel, which provides visitors with a refreshing view of Dubai’s waters.
There are also exciting festivals to watch out for in Dubai. Dubai authorities encouraged several organizations to uphold events throughout the year to further attract tourists. It starts with the Dubai Marathon in January that is a charitable funding event that offers a hefty prize. It then ends with Dubai’s National Day Festival by the end of the year to commemorate the Emirates’ independence from Great Britain. A stay in several Dubai Hotels is necessary if you want to take part in these events.
